Brant County, officially known as the County of Brant, is a single-tier municipality located in southern Ontario, Canada. Despite its name, it operates independently and is not part of any regional county structure. The county is named after Joseph Brant, a prominent Mohawk leader, and was established in 1851. The city of Brantford, although geographically surrounded by Brant County, is a separate entity with its own municipal government.

Covering approximately 817.66 square kilometers, Brant County offers a blend of urban centers and rural landscapes. The largest community within the county is Paris, with a population of 14,956 as of 2021. Other notable communities include St. George, Burford, Glen Morris, Oakland, Scotland, and Mount Pleasant. These areas are known for their picturesque settings, historic architecture, and vibrant local cultures.

As of the 2021 Census, Brant County had a population of 39,474. The demographic composition is predominantly of European descent, accounting for approximately 90.93% of the population. Other represented groups include Indigenous peoples (2.38%), South Asian (2.57%), African (1.65%), Southeast Asian (0.59%), Latin American (0.52%), East Asian (0.5%), and Middle Eastern (0.31%) communities.

Brant County’s economy is diverse, encompassing agriculture, manufacturing, retail, and service sectors.
